For all your sound
and lighting needs

Capital Sound and Light (CSL) is a family run, homegrown business that has meticulously built a reputation for dependable personal service since its inception in 2000.

Some of the events they provide sound for include the Orleans Oktoberfest Celebration, political campaign events, school fun fairs and...

Michael Hooper, and sons Shawn and Kevin, know the business inside and out and they especially know how to make their clients sound good. Whether it's a ribbon cutting ceremony or the Greater Orleans Canada Day Celebration where they provide the sound for over 24,000 people, Capital Sound and Light can easily meet your needs with the utmost professionalism.

Prior to opening CSL, Michael worked for Panasonic Canada for 24 years where he was Government Marketing Manager for the Broadcast and Television Systems Division, responsible for marketing the Ramsa product line of recording consoles as well as other professional audio products to the Federal Government. Michael was a founding member and on the board of managers of the Ottawa Chapter of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers for 14 years.

When not operating the console for CSL, Shawn Hooper keeps himself busy as Technical Consultant for the Orleans Young Players Theatre School, where he looks after the sound and lighting requirements for many of their productions. Shawn is also part of the technical crew at the City of Ottawa's Orleans Theatre.

Rounding out the trio is Hooper's other son Kevin who received his technical training at the conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences in Tempe, Arizona and completed his internship in a digital recording studio in Chicago, Illinois. He is a member in good standing of the Audio Engineering Society.

CSL has all the state-of-the-art equipment on hand to meet their clients' needs, including Wired and Wireless Microphones, large and small P.A. (Sound systems), LCD Video Projectors, DMX Controlled Follow Spot and Lighting equipment. They also have a long list of satisfied customers, including many local schools who often use their services for school plays and special events.

In addition to Renting Sound and Lighting equipment for small and large events, Capital Sound and Light also sells Audio and Lighting equipment as well as Theatrical Drapes.
