Coaching you to
financial independence

Linas Pilypaitis, Investment Advisor, has spent most of his adult life helping individuals become the best they can be.

Whether as a former officer in the Canadian Navy or as the head coach of multiple gold medal winning basketball teams, Linas has built a track record of success by setting achievable goals and then meeting or even exceeding them.

Linas now uses those same skills and coaching principles to help guide his clients towards financial independence.

"Success in financial planning and investments is a team effort between the investor, the Investment Advisor and the investment firm," says Linas. "I am very proud to be able to offer the resources and programs of BMO Nesbitt Burns, one of Canada’s leading full service brokerages, to my clients."

"Successful coaching requires an understanding of each client’s needs and matching them to the right resource available from BMO Nesbitt Burns to meet a specific goal. This is what I do best for my clients.”

Linas’ first priority is to gain a clear understanding of your needs and aspirations. He can then coaches you through the goal setting process before recommending and implementing a suitable course of action.

“Without a realistic end goal, it is difficult to establish the steps needed to achieve the desired result," explains Linas. "I use a personal consultative approach to ensure that the end goal is clear and realistic. Then I guide my clients through the process of determining the most appropriate steps and strategies to get there. Once the strategies are in place, my service commitment to clients is clear, you will not be lost in a shuffle, and you will hear from me frequently, no matter what the conditions of the market are.”

Linas specializes in Portfolio Strategies, Retirement (RRSP) Planning and Education (RESP) Planning that follow three key elements: capital preservation, capital growth and tax minimization.

“No one likes to lose money in their investments. I do not recommend strategies or investment instruments that place my clients beyond their risk threshold," Linas explains. "At the same time, risk and reward go hand in hand and one of the proven ways to minimize risk is to set reasonable expectations and properly allocate assets between different investment classes."

"BMO Nesbitt Burns adjusts their recommended asset mix for income, balanced, and growth investors monthly. This is where I start the investment planning process. Finally, nobody likes to pay tax either. I use every opportunity to ensure that my clients mimimize their tax payable.”

A husband and father, Linas spent over 20 years in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Naval Officer. After leaving the Navy, he spent three years in the defence industry where his comprehensive work experience included the financial management of various projects and programs.

A member of the Naval Officers’ Association of Canada, Linas is a proud corporate member of the Naval Officers’ Mess, HMCS Bytown. He is also very active in the community as the head coach of the Gloucester Wolverines competitive basketball program.

He also coaches the region’s elite development teams for Basketball Ontario and this past summer coached the provincial U15 girls team to a gold medal at the national championships in Vancouver..

Last but not least he is a proud supporter of the Orléans community and a valued local business sponsor of OrleansOnline.ca.
