A child’s memory of the Second World War has been a labour of love for those of us who were lucky enough to have known Miza Davie personally. The stories are her personal memories of growing up during the Second World War between the ages of five and 11. They were written at random as they came to her and are presented much in the same manner. Although each story can stand on its own, together they tell the seldom told story of the ravages of war on the civilian population and especially the children.

Proceeds from the sale of the book will go to the Miza’s War Memories Trust Fund and in turn awarded to three charities slected by Miza before she succumbed to cancer in Jube, 2005 at the age of 72. The first is the Lions International Student Exchange Program which matches up students in District A4 with Lions sponsored students in other countries; the second is the Orleans Online Outstanding Youth Awards, and the third is the Graffiti Youth Drop-in Centre project.

When you purchase a copy of A child’s memory of the Second World War, you will be supporting three projects that were close to Miza’s heart and which carry on her legacy of supporting children and children’s causes.

Thank you for your support.
