Lose weight,
feel great!

Lose weight and have fun -- two concepts that don't exactly go together when thinking about getting rid of those extra pounds. Well at the AMD Adventure Boot Camps in Orléans and Kanata, you can lose weight and have a great time doing.

Just answer these three questions for youself. Do you want to look and feel better? Do you need motivation? Do you want to meet fun people who have the same goals as you do? If you're answer to all three questions is "yes", then read on.

First of all, don't let the name fool you. The AMD Adventure Boot Camp in Orléans is not a hardcore, blood, sweat and tears military style training program. However, they are serious about helping men and women lose weight, increase their stamina and fitness, and walk away feeling inspired and motivated to keep the weight off.

The adventure boot camp concept was developed by Dr. John Spencer Ellis who has spent more than half his life in the fitness industry. After years of research, hundreds of hours of instruction, experimenting with various teaching methods, camp formats, and nutrition programs, the first Adventure Boot Camp was born in Orange County, California in the early 1990s.

After hearing about the Adventure Boot Camp, Adrian Delorey had to check it out for himself. As a certified kinesiologist and personal trainer, he had an immediate appreciation for Dr. Ellis' program. He enrolled to become a certified Adventure Boot Camp facilitator and trainer and then returned to Orléans to open the first AMD Adventure Boot Camp.

The camp itself consists of daily one-hour sessions conducted over a
four-week period, with each week's sessions increasing in intensity. The sessions are held either outdoors or indoors. During the winter they are held in the Louis Riel Dome.

Sessions are offered for both men and women. Exercises include: kettle bell training, sand bag training, core conditioning, short distance running (less than one mile), jumping rope, circuit training, hiking, agility training, fitness kickboxing, and more including a few surprises along the way.

Each session also includes a nutrition seminar run by a registered dietician and a grocery shopping tour to learn the secrets of selecting the right foods for yourself and your family.

At the end of the four-week session your body will become more fit and toned, and you will gain more confidence making a dramatic improvement in your physical well-being. The exercises are designed to firm your butt and thighs, flatten your stomach, reduce body fat and increase stamina.

By losing fat and gaining muscle, you'll lose inches and gain strength while looking and feeling better. Also, you'll meet great people who share in the same vision of striving to reach their goals for a healthier mind and body.

And don't worry if you're not physically fit to begin with. Women of all ages and abilities have benefitted from the program. At the Orleans Adventure Boot Camp For Women nobody gets left behind or is asked to complete more than they are capable of doing safely.
