Our experience makes
the difference

At the Mortgage Centre, Orléans your satisfaction and long term peace of mind is their most important goal.

First time buyers will appreciate the individual service and lack of pressure that are the hallmarks of independent mortgage brokers. The Mortgage Centre is not beholden to any specific financial institution or product. Therefore they can help find you a mortgage product and lender that are perfectly suited to your situation in life and individual needs without bias.

They do all the leg work so you won't have to. They’ll meet to discuss your needs when and where you like — or handle everything over the phone, whatever you prefer. After the initial meeting, they'll shop your mortgage to Canada’s leading lenders and present a wide range of options for you to consider.

Their primary focus is to ensure that the process proceeds as smoothly, quickly and effortlessly as possible. Because they don’t work for the lenders, they can offer expert, unbiased advice so that you can feel confident in their ability to get the best available rate and features.

Marie-France Lavigne first became associated with The Mortgage Centre in 1998. Shortly afterwards she opened her first office on St. Joseph Blvd. in Orléans which today has satellite offices in Rockland, Embrun and on St. Laurent Blvd. in Ottawa.

Over the years, Marie-France and her team of dedicated mortgage specialists have helped hundreds of homeowners secure a mortgage -- from first time homebuyers to individuals interested in using the equity in their homes to put their children through university or build an addition.

"That's the best part about the job," says Lavigne. "People really appreciate what you do for them. We receive Thank You cards and flowers all the time."

In the past, the advantage of going to a mortgage broker was to have someone who could help sort through the myriad of products and lenders in the financial services industry. Now that the players have been whittled down to the five main financial institutions, mortgage brokers are more valuable than ever in helping to find the best product and terms possible.

"We're the best kept secret out there. Because we exist the banks have to be more competitive," says Lavigne.

Through the success of the business, Marie-France has been able to support a variety of community initiatives including the Blackburn Women's Softball League. But the cause that's nearest and dearest to her heart is breast cancer awareness.

Several years ago she look over as chair of the Breast Cancer Awareness Golf Tournament and turned it into one of the most successful golf tournaments in the region, raising between $30,000 and $40,000 a year.

Last year, she came up with an idea to make a special bracelet in honour of two friends who passed away from breast cancer and sell them at the tournament. In no time at all the bracelets were completely sold out.

"When you enjoy the type of success that we have enjoyed it's important to give something back to the community, because without their support we wouldn't be in the position we're in," says Lavigne.
