Tired of grilling the same old, same old? Want to impress your friends the next time you invite them over to a backyard BBQ? Then why not turn the ordinary into extraordinary with a visit to the Bearbrook Farm Deli and Game Meat Store on Russell Road?

At the Bearbrook Farm Deli and Game Meat Store you can find all sorts of delicious game meat including venison, buffalo, llama, wild boar, elk and caribou. They even have more exotic meats like kangaroo, emu, ostrich and rattlesnake.

All the products are vacuum packed and flash frozen to ensure the maximum freshness when you open them up.

The most popular products are the seven different varieties of sausages which contain no filler, no binder and absolutely no MSG. They have venison, buffalo, 100 % turkey bratwurst, ostrich, emu, duck, wild boar, elk and lamb, just to name a few.

The also sell roasts and chops in several different meats including wild boar and venison; buffalo, venison, ostrich, wild boar and elk pepperettes; wild boar prosciutto; and caribou meatballs.

They also have partridge, pheasant, duck, quail and guinea hens as well as rabbits and wild hare. For the less adventurous eaters on your invite list they have the freshest beef, veal and pork steaks, roasts and ground beef anywhere.

The store is run by Walter and Inge Henn who have been raising, slaughtering and selling exotic game meat for over 20 years. The husband and wife team have also developed recipes for an entire line of pre-cooked take home dinners which can also be purchased at the deli and game meat store such as Buffalo Stew with Black Currant Sauce, Emu Meat Balls with Vidalia Onion Sauce and Roasted Wild Boar with Gooseberry Sauce. Simply thaw them out and pop them in the microwave or oven.

Last but not least, they sell homemade tortieres and two different types of cipailles which are traditional game meat pies made with a combination of either turkey, duck and chicken, or wild boar, buffalo and elk.

The Bearbrook Farm Deli and Game Meat Store is located on Russell Road just east of Rockdale Road. If you’re coming from Orleans, take Frank Kenny Road south until you come to Russell Road. Turn left on Russell and drive past Rockdale until you see the farm on your left.

They can be reached by calling 613-835-2227, or you can visit their website at www.bearbrookfarm.com.

Bearbrook Farm meat products can also be purchased at The Hill Butcher Shop in the Beacon Hill Shopping Centre, 2339 Ogilvie Rd.
