Investigators with the Ottawa Police Service have made an arrest in connection with the hit-and-run robbery that occurred in Avalon in August that left the female victim in a coma for several days.

Thirty-one-year-old Natalie Galipeau was trying to sell a sinlge piece of jewelry on usedottawa.com for $1,250 when she was contacted by an individual who said he was interested in purchasing it. The two agreed to meet at Galipeau's Avalon home on Plainhill Drive.

The meeting took place at around 9 p.m. Things went terribly wrong when the man who agreed to meet Galipeau started to drive away with the jewelry. That's when she was either hit or dragged by the car, suffering multiple fractures to her skull. She was rushed to the Otawa Hospital where doctors placed her in an induced coma for four days.

Eighteen-year-old Yonis Awais Hassan was picked up by police earlier today. He faces a number of charges in connection with the incident as well as three other robberies.
