Ottawa Police are looking for a man believed to be in his early to mid-30s after a 14-year-old girl says she was assaulted near the OC Transpo Park-and-Ride lot across from Place d'Orléans.

The incident occurred at around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday Sept. 24. According to police, the victim was walking through the woods when she was approached by a man who knocked her to the ground, sat on her and began hitting her.

A passer-by heard the girl screaming; when the suspect saw the person moving toward them, he took off.

Police say the man has light brown skin, brown hair, is about 6-foot-3 and skinny but muscular.

Anyone with information is asked to call Ottawa Police East District Investigations Det. Cameron Graham at 613-236-1222, ext. 3566 or phone Crime Stoppers at 613-233-8477(TIPS) or toll-free at 1-800-222-8477.
