abduction ends in dramatic arrest on Hwy. 416

20-year-old male is in custody after the 18-year-old daughter
of an Ottawa police officer was abducted outside her Orléans
home on Tuesday.
to media reports, Harmony Nhin, 18, was abducted by her
ex-boyfriend just before 4 p.m. The incident touched off
an urgent request for the public's help in locating a
black 2000 BMW 328i.
terrifying ordeal came to an end nearly six hours later
when units from the OPP and the Ottawa Police Service
managed to force the vehicle to a stop on Hwy. 416 near
placed Andrew Bettencourt, 20, in custody pending formal
charges, while Nhin was returned home unharmed.
