Motorcyclist, passenger die in multi-vehicle accident on Montreal Rd.

A 49-year-old male motorcyclist and his 34-year-old female passenger have died in a multi-vehicle accident on Montreal Road at the Hwy. 174 overpass.

The accident occured at around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday and involved two cars and a pick-up truck as well as the motorcycle. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

In a picture taken at the scene, a damaged silver Mazda can be seen in the middle of the northbound lane of Montreal Road with the crumpled motorcycle lying on its side in front of it. A burgundy pick-up truck can also be seen with damage to its front bumper to the left of the car and motorcycle.

The Ottawa Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident to contact Collision Investigation Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 2481. Anonymous tips can be called into Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
