Woman killed in Hwy. 174 collision between car, school bus

A collision between a car and a school bus carrying 55 high school students on Hwy. 174 near Quigley Hill Road has left the 73-year-old female driver of the vehicle dead.

According to the Ottawa Paframedic Service, none of students on the school bus were seriously injured in the collision, although there were a handful of minor injuries.

The school bus was returning to Lisgar Collegiate high school from a field trip to Macskimming Outdoor Education Centre in Cumberland when the accident occured at around 2:40 p.m. about 1.5 km west of Quigley Hill Road.

Hwy. 174 remains closed in both directions between Trim Road and Cameron Street as police investigate the cause of the accident.
