Jean-Marc Lalonde, MPP for Glengarry-Prescott-Russell, announces $320,400 in grants for Glengarry-Prescott-Russell from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

Last month, I announced over $320,000 in Ontario Trillium Foundation grants for a variety of projects in Glengarry-Prescott-Russell.

  • Centre culturel Le Chenail is receiving $25,000 over one year to conduct a feasibility study that will produce a business and strategic plan to allow for the eventual creation of an art and environment project in the City of Hawkesbury.
  • Chevaliers de Colomb, Conseil St-Jacques d'Embrun 6301 is receiving $42,000 over one year to install automatic doors that will make this community facility fully accessible to individuals with limited mobility, as well as to purchase a backup generator for community emergency preparedness purposes.
  • Club Colombien Fraternité de l'Orignal is receiving $44,000 over six months to complete the second stage of a renovation project that will make washrooms in this meeting facility completely accessible to people of all abilities in this rural community.
  • Club d'âge d'or du Réveil de Vankleek Hill is receiving $4,900 over one year to repair the roof of the club's building, ensuring the continued availability, comfort and safety of this important community meeting facility for seniors.
  • Community Living Glengarry is receiving $72,000 over two years to hire a manager who will oversee the development of a two year plan for White Swan Linen, a social enterprise that employs community members who would normally face barriers to employment in other organizations.
  • Prescott-Russell Environmental Outreach Initiative c/o Association française des propriétaires de boisés privés de l'Est de l'Ontario is receiving $52,500 over one year to hire a co-ordinator who will build the capacity of local environmental organizations to initiate environmental projects in the community while engaging volunteers.
  • Township of Champlain is receiving $57,000 over one year to replace the Mill St. Park play structure with a splash park, which will enhance the recreational opportunities for children and families in the community of Vankleek Hill.
  • Village d’antan franco-ontarien is receiving $23,000 over six months to develop a business plan for the creation of an interactive, historic, early 1900s franco-Ontarian village in the village of St-Albert that will educate children and the public about local history and heritage.
As the local MPP, I am very proud of the funding that was announced. Eight organizations will now benefit from the McGuinty government's contributions towards important projects in Glengarry-Prescott-Russell. Congratulations to all the recipients.
