Grads end losing
streak with 2-0 win over Kanata By
Fred Sherwin Orléans Online The
new look Cumberland Grads have finally shaken the monkey off their back by downing
the Kanata Stallions 2-0 on Tuesday to end a six game losing streak dating back
to the CJHL trade deadline. A
pair of power play goals by Mark Borkowski and Kevin tansey proved to be the difference
against the Stallions, while Adam Laderoute stopped 33 shots to pick up his third
shutout of the season. Special
teams were the key to victory for the Grads. Not only were they two-for-three
with the extra attacker, but they also managed to keep the Stallions power play
from scoring in four attempts including the first 1:54 of the second period. The
Grads will try to make it two in a row when they take on the Nepean Raiders at
the Nepean Sportsplex this evening. The two teams only recently met at the Navan
Arena on Sunday with the Raiders emerging victorious. (Posted
