suffers first defeat at World Junior Curling Championships

Homan's bid for a World Championship hit a minor speed bump on Friday as the Orleans
skip suffered her first loss in the final draw of the round robin portion of the
tournament on Thursday. The
Homan rink, which is made up of includes third Emma Miskew, second Laura Crocker
and lead Lynn Kreviazuk, came up on the short end of an 8-6 loss to Switzerland
who was in a must win situation.
Despite
the loss, Canada still finished atop the leaderboard with an 8-1 record and will
play in the 1-2 playoff game today against Sweden with the winner earning abye
into Sunday's final The loser will play the winner of the 3-4 playoff game between
the Swiss and the Americans whoch will also take place this afternoon. (This
