Fred Sherwin Orléans Online Orléans
curler Rachel Homan has skipped Team Canada into the final at the World Junior
Curling Championships in Flim, Switzerland after posting 9-3 win over Sweden in
the 1-2 playoff game on Friday. Canada
jumped out to a commanding 7-0 lead thanks to a steal of four in the second end
when Swedish skip Anna Hasselborg had her draw attempt sailed through the house.
The two teams then exchanged points during the next five ends before Sweden conceeded
the loss after the eighth end. Sweden
will now play the U.S.A. in Saturday's semi-final after the Americans knocked
off Switzerland 6-4 in the 3-4 playoff game. The winner of the semi-final game
will play Canada in the final on Sunday. (Posted
