The St. Peter Knights total domination of the junior football ranks continued on Tuesday with a 43-0 win over the Glebe Gryphons who were only able to pick up a single first down the entire game.

The Knights jumped out to a 13-0 first quarter lead on a pair of touchdowns by first year running back Jaylen King.

The first touchdown came on a two yard run which capped an impressive 80-yard drive on the opening series of the game. After the Gryphons failed to move the ball on their opening series, the Knights struck again as first yeat quarterback Jake Molinski connected with Sean Decloux for a 45 yard pass down to the 15-yard line.

Brandon Farquharson carried the ball in two plays later, but the play was called back for holding. On the very next play, Molinski hit King for a 23 yard screen pass to put St. Peter up 13-0.

After a scoreless second quarter, the Knights would score two more touchdowns in the third -- the first on one yard run by Eli Ankou that was set up by several long runs by King, and the second on a six yard run by King.

Molinski scored on a one yard quarterback sneak early in the fourth after the Gryphons managed to keep Michael Rifaat out of the end zone and then Rifaat scored on a two yard run up the middle later in the quarter to make the final 43-0.

It was the Knights' third shutout of the season after having already blanked the Sir Wilfrid Laurier Lancers and the St. Mark Lions. They also beat Mother Teresa 44-6. The only game they played that was at least halfway competitive was their opening game against the St. Matthew Tigers which they won 22-16.

The Kinghts are a highly motivated bunch, especially after they were forced to forfeit five games last year for using an ineligible player. They ended up with a 1-6 record and failed to make it to the championship game for the first time in 10 years.

Barring any similar circumstances this year, the Knights will almost certainly make it to the final this season where they will likely face the Tigers who improved their record to 4-1 Tuesday with a win over the Lancers.

St. Pete's will try to keep their perfect record intact on Friday when they travel to Kanata to take on the Holy Trinity Tornadoes who are 4-0-1.
