Former
St. Peter Knight standout Courtney Pilypaitis is one of 17 playes vying for a
spot on the national women's basketball team that will be heading to the FIBA
World Championships in September.. Pilypaits
recently wrapped up a highly successful collegiate career at the University of
Vermont where she established school records for minutes played, three-point baskets,
assists and games played. She
has peviously represented Canada at the World University Games in 2009 and the
World U21 and U19 Championships.. The
Canadian senior women's team is currently ranked 12th in the world according to
the FIBA rankings. They are currently in the middle of a four game exhibition
series with Chile and Sweden. After winning both fo their game against the Chileans,
they take on the Swedes in back-to-back games on July 27 and 29. (This
