end regular season schedule with big win over Toronto By
Fred Sherwin Orléans Online The
Ottawa Invaders ended their regular season schedule with a 17-10 road win over
the Toronto Raiders on Saturday to improve their record to 3-4-1 heading into
the playoffs.. Slotback
Joe Doherty scored the Invaders' lone touchdown on a 60-yard pass from QB Seam
Carmidy and newly-acquired kicker Bob Begin added two field goals and a convert. Prior
to the game the Raiders were tied atop the leaderboard in the Northern Football
Conference with the Sault Ste. Marie.Steelers at five wins apiece, while the Invaders
were winless in their last four games after winning their first two games of the
season. The
Invaders must now wait for the results of the weekend's other games to come in
before they find out who they'll be facing in the first round of the playoffs.
Whoever they play, the game will likely be on the road. (This
