The Cairine Wilson Wildcats knew they had their work cut out for themselves if they wanted to win the senior boys A/AA city rugby championship on Thursday.

Afterall, their opponents had already beaten them twice this season by a combined score of 76-5. In fact, the Ashbury Colts came into the title game sporting a 7-0 record. They scored a total of 305 points while giving up just 43. In other words, it didn't good for the boys in orange and blue. And as fate would have it, the game went pretty much to form.

The Colts scored early and often in grinding out a 20-0 first half lead. Ashbury then blew the game wind open in the seond half thanks to Jonah Nagler who scored a pari of tries less than two minutes apart.

The Colts would add three more tries before the Wildcats' Ryan Yuke finally scored a converted try on the final play of the game.

Besides Nagler's two tries, the rest of the Colts majors were scored by six different players. Christian St. Louis scored a pair of tries while Alex Carr, Irving Cazabon-Sousa, Benji Oppenheimer, Fraser Hill and Kelly Denison each added a single.

The Colts only blemish on their near perfect performance was in the convert department where Cameron Morrison was good on just one of nine attempts in the windy conditions..
