put the hex on Cougars

The
Colonel By Cougars senior boys soccer team suffered their
second lopsided defeat of the season on Wednesday, falling
5-1 to the St. Pius X-Men two days after being shutout
4-0 by the Mother Teresa Titans.
The
X-Men had the Cougars on their heels from the get go.
Marco Natoli scored two goals for St. Pius in the opening
15 minutes before Colonel By was finally able to mount
a counter attack.
The
lone bright spot of the game for the Cougars came in the
final few seconds of the first half when Marc Bitar scored
off a corner kick to cut the X-Men lead to 2-1.
The
second half was only four minutes old when Aaron Nkazzonnyi
thread a perfect pass through to Natoli for his third
goal of the game.
The
X-Men would add a pair of penalty kicks in the second
half, one by Nkazzonnyi and onother ne by Daniel Padovan,
to make the final score 5-1.
The
Cougars fall to 1-2 with the loss, while the X-Men are
the only unbeaten team in the city at 3-0.
Colonel
By will be looking to rebound against the Glebe Gryphons
(1-2) next week and stay in the playoff picture. A loss
would disastrous.
