win

The
Cumberland Panther tyke football team solidified its place
in the record books on Saturday with a 59-0 win over the
Bel-Air Lions.
The
59-point win brings their total point production to 424
points in seven regular season games. That's the most
points scored by an NCAFA team at any level and represents
an average of 60.54 points per game which is another regular
season best.
The
Panther tykes are also the first team to go through the
entire regular season without giving up a single point
since the 2001 Panther tyke team.
With
the playoffs set to begin next weekend, the tykes will
try to add to their consecutive shutout streak against
the Bell Warriors.
Their
unprecedented success is due to their quick strike offence
led by defensive lineman turned quarterback Christian
Veilleux, who is arguably the most talented quarterback
at the tyke level in recent memory, and a one-two running
back tandem in Markaedyn Nelson and Fabrice Mukendi that
is rivals any backfield in recent memory.
Combine
their high-powered offense with a defence that hasn't
allowed a first down all season and you have a juggernaut
that will hard, if not impossible, to beat.
