Ottawa
67s defenceman and former Cumberland Barons product Cody
Ceci is on his way to Owen Sound after being traded to
the Attack on Monday.
The
19-year-old Orléans resident was traded to the
Attack along with Steven Janes for Jacob Middleton and
Joseph Blandisi.
The
Ottawa Senators first round draft pick says he was surprised
when he was first informed about the deal, but quickly
warmed up to the idea of playing for a playoff contender.
It
was tough for me at first but I realized this was a good
opportunity for me," says Ceci. "(The
Senators) thought this would be best for my develop.m.ent
and I agree with them. They wanted to see me have a playoff
run in my last year in junior rather than see me staying
on a rebuilding team. They wanted to see me on a contender.
The
67s playoff hopes died after a miserable December, while
the Attack are currently the third seed in the Western
Conference, 18 points back of the forst place London Knights.
Ceci's
last goal for the 67s will likely end up being one of
his most memorable. He scored the shootout winner against
Brampton on Sunday.
