Former
Louis Riel Rebelles and current Iowa Hawkeye David Nsabua
picked up his first top three performance of the season
on Saturday, placing second in the triple jump at the
Adidas Classic track meet in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Nsabua
saved his best jump for last, uncorking a leap of 14.41
metres on his last attempt to leap frog from fourth place
to second.
It
was the ninth best jump all-time at the university and
made up for a disappointing performance in the long jump
in which he placed 10th with a leap of 6.58 metres, almost
20 centimetres shy of his personal best.
Nsabua
signed a scholarship with the University of Iowa after
an outstanding season in which he won all but one of the
competitions he entered. He is the top ranked junior triple
jumper in the country and former U18 youth record holder.
Before
signing with Iowa, Nsabua was courted by Louisiana State
University and the the University of Iowa.
