Orléans
was well represented at the recent CIS Indoor Track and
Field Championships in Edmonton as three area athletes
managed to capture five medals including three gold as
part of the University of Ottawa track team.
Devin
Biocchi and Oluwasegun Makinde finished one-two in the
300-metre final and then joined forces with teammates
Michael Robertson and Gabriel Tesfaye to win the 4x200
metre relay.
Biocchi
won a third gold medal in the 4x400 relay with Robertson,
Tesfaye and Oluwasegun's younger brother Tolu Makinde,
while Oluwasegun added a bronze medal to his collection
in the 60-metre final.
Biocchi
ran the best race of the season in the final lowering
his preliminary time by nearly six-tenths of a second.
