The Gloucester Rangers Minor Peewee 'A' team ended 2013 on a high note Tuesday by winning the Bell Capital Cup in convincing fashion over the Richmond Hill Stars.

The Rangers got goals from Jaden Tracey, Simon Labelle, Owen Genier and Vincent Labelle, while Jonny Lemaire picked up his third shutout of the tournament in a 4-0 win at the Canadian Tire Centre.

After getting a pre-game pep talk from Ottawa Senators coach Paul MacLean, the Rangers went out and outshot the Stars 24-10 in another example of their total domination of the opposition at the Bell Capital Cup.

Despite playing in the AA division, the 'A' level team allowed just two goals in six games, while averaging over three goals a game.

With a goal and an assist in the AA final, Simon Labelle finished the tournament with 10 points including eight goals to lead all scorers in both categories.

This is the third tournament win for the Rangers so far this season. They won the Hillcrest Canadians Tournament in September and the Capital Fall Classic Tournament in October.

The Rangers' tournament success is a reflextion of their current season, They currently lead their division in the Ontario East Minor Hockey League with a record of 16 wins, three losses and one tie. They are six points clear of the Ottawa Valley Silver Seven with a game in hand and 12 points clear of the Kanata Blazers who've played three fewer games than them.

The Rangers' Minor Peewee AA had a good run in the Bell Capital Cup as well, making it all the way to the semi-finals in the AAA division before losing 2-1 to the Sudbury Sons in the semi-finals in a hard fought game.

Team roster: Mathieu Beauchemin, Evan Beaudoin, Tyler Boyd, Ryan Buckley, Owen Genier, Justin Graham, Cooper Grochot, Kurtis Ikkers, Vincent Labelle, Simon Labelle, Maxime Lacroix, Jarrett Ladouceur, Jonathan Lemaire, Luka Partington, Daniel Sabourin, Jaden Tracey, and Tyler Vezina.
