Jake Fox is quickly becoming a rising star in the sport of field lacrosse. The 17-year-old Orléans native recently helped lead an upstate New York elite team to a national championship at the Dick's Sporting Goods Tournament in Florida.

Fox is one of a handful of Canadians on the Sweetlax lacrosse team that went 4-0 to win the prestigous tournament which took place over the holidays. Her averaged five goals a game in the team's championship run.

A product of the Gloucester Lacrosse Association, Fox is hoping to follow in the footsteps of fellow former Griffins like Pat Collins and Callum Crawford who had successful pro-careers.

After spending a year at Trinity Pawling Prep School in Pawling, N.Y. the former St. Matthew High School student is currently enrolled at the Hill Academy in Vaughan, Ontario and is committed to attend perennial NCAA powerhouse Johns Hopkins University starting in September 2015.

In 2012 he helped lead Team Ontario to the national midget championship.
