Homan remains perfect at Scotties Tournament of Hearts

Orléans skip Rachel Homan's quest for
a second straight Scotties championship is
going according to plan as her team has jumped
out to a perfect 5-0 record. File photo
skip Rachel Homan and her team of Emma Miskew, Alison
Kreviazuk and Lisa Weagle are showing why they are the
team to beat at this year's Scotties Tournament of Hearts,
jumping out to a 5-0 record in defence of the title they
won last year.
Homan has not only won their first five games, but they
have done so in impressive fashion, outscoring their opponents
this morning's draw against co-favourites Alberta, Homan
and company were in total control from beginning to end..
forcing Val Sweeting to count one in the first, Homan
made a draw for a deuce in the second end. They then forced
Sweeting to score another single in the third end, before
scoring five huge points with last rock in the fourth.
there it was just a matter of house cleaning as Team Homan
kept the number of rocks in play to a minimum.
the end of the eighth end it was all over as Sweeting
accepted the obvious and conceded defeat.
feeling really comfortable right now, We're learning from
each game and trying to get better and better as each
game goes on," Homan said during a break in this
morning's game. "The girls have been lights out.
Line calling and everything has been amazing."
next for Team Homan is Team Nova Scotia in tonight's evening
draw. The Bluenosers are struggling at 1-4 and are hoping
to get their ship back on course.
