Navan native and veteran pitcher Erik Bédard
is hopin to make the Tampa Bay Rays starting
rotation after being signed to a minor league
conract by the American League Club last Friday.

11th spring training camp where he will be attempting
to join his sixth big league team after signing a minor
league contract with the Tampa Bay Rays.
34-year-old lefthander broke into the big leagues with
the Baltmore Orioles in 2003. He has since played for
the Seattle Mariners, Boston Red Sox,.Pittsburgh Pirates,
and Houston Astros.
