The St. Peter Knights junior boys rugby team showed their resiliency on Thursday, bouncing back from a disappointing loss to the Colonel By Cougars earlier in the week to down the Sir Wilfrid Laurier Lancers 36-3.

The Knights lost to the Cougars after jumping out to a 14-0 lead and then briefly letting up to allow Colonel By to get back into the game.

They weren't about to make the same mistake twice. After scoring the first two tries against Sir Wil, the Knights kept the pressue up, scoring twice more and adding a convert before the end of the first half.

Up 22-0 at the break, the Knights would add to their lead in the second half with tries from Quinn Nadon and Brad Pichette and a pair of converts by Aidan Bennett and Sam Enriquez.

The Lancers avoided getting shutout when Jordan Hamilton made good on a goal kick from 25 metres out at full-time to make the final score 36-0.

Nadon ended the game with a pair of tries while Pichette, Connor Gunn, Pierre Hardy Gouombus, and Matt Byrne had one each.

The junior Knights wrap up their regular season schedule with games against the Cairine Wilson Wildcats and the St. Patrick's Fighting Irish next week.
