Homan finishes round robin with perfect 11-0 record
By Fred Sherwin
native Rachel Homan, along with teammates Emma Miskew,
Joanne Courtney and Lisa Weagle, became only the third
foursome to finish the round robin portion of the World
Women's Curling Championships with a perfect record after
they swept past Italy and Denmark on Thursday.
Ottawa-based rink started the day off with an 8-5 win
over Italy and then beat a stubborn Danish team 8-4 to
improve their record to a perfect 11-0.

Homan foursome trailed Denmark 4-3 heading into the eighth
end when they managed to put a three spot on the board
and take the lead. They solidified their advantage by
stealing two more points in the ninth end and then ran
the Danes out of rocks in the 10th.
Canadians must now await the winner of the Russia-China
game in today's afternoon draw to see who their opponent
will be in the 1-2 Page playoff game. If Russia wins they
will be awarded second place by virtue of their round
robin win over Sweden who are 8-3.
Russian loss would leave Sweden alone in second place.
Canada has wins over both teams and would be the prohibitive
favourite to win the game and advance directly to Sunday's
1-2 Page playoff game will be televised on TSN at 7 a.m.
