Olivier Mrak’s international karting career is off to a terrific start after the 14-year-old placed 17th in the ROK Superfinals in Lonato, Italy earlier this month.
The result in the Junior Max division, was the first time a Canadian has ever finished in the top 20 competing on the track for the first.
What made the performance even more impressive is the fact that Mrak qualified for the final with the 32nd fastest time out of 104 drivers. That represents an improvement of 15 spots from his qualifying result and to his finshing position in the final race
Earlier in the week he placed ninth out of 72 drivers in a warm up race on the Italian track which was the first time a Canadian finished in the top 10.
The ROK Superfinal is in itself a warm up race for the Rotax MAX Grandfinals in Bahrain in December where Mrak will be hoping to put in another great showing.
