ORLEANS CHRISTMAS CHOIRFEST starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Community Pentecostal Church, 1825 St. Joseph Blvd. The Choirfest brings together choral ensembles from across the east end, including a number of local churches. Admission is free, however, a freewill collection will be taken up during the intermission to benefit both the Gloucester and Orléans-Cumberland food banks.

The play tells the story of Canadian actor Patrick Fellowes during his last years in Hollywood. CHRISTMAS PANTOMIME -- After a three year hiatus, the East End Theatre is back with a traditional British pantomime entitled "The Dragon of Wantley". Based on an English legend involving real people, this panto was beloved by Victorian audiences and has now been adapted for the 21st century by that master of pantomime - Norman Robbins. Curtain time all three nights is 7:30 p.m. in the Richcraft Theatre at the Shenkman Arts Centre. A special matinee performance will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $17.50 for adults and $12.50 for children. Family of four is $54. To order visit www.shenkmanarts.ca.

Trinity Gallery

The Trinity Gallery Salon A will be playing host to an exhibit by Tanis Dennis from October 25 to November 27. Salon B is hosting an exhibit entitled "Lives In Winter" featuring works depicting glimpses of aging by artists who work with seniors, helping them create their own art. The Trinity Gallery is located on the lower level of the Shenkman Arts Centre.

AOE Gallery

The AOE Arts Council Gallery will be presenting an exhibit featuring the work of Ivano Cargnello entitled "Viaggi - Voyages - Viajes" from October 30 to January 10. The Gallery is located on the main level of the Shenkman Arts Centre.

Lalonde + Doyle Gallery

The Lalonde + Doyle Gallery will be hosting an exhibit entitked "Colour Explosion - Tapestries and Art from Africa" from November 20 to 27. The purpose of the exhibition is to showcase works by East African artisans and raise funds for a local East African foundation – Restoration and Develop.m.ent Association - whose poverty relief initiatives focus on vulnerable children and women’s groups from poor communities in East Africa, and whose most recent project is a school renovation. The gallery is located on the lower level of the Shenkman Arts Centre.

Ottawa School of Art - Orléans Campus Gallery

The Ottawa School of Art - Orléans Campus Gallery will be hosting the 28th Annual Holiday Findraising Art Sale from November 29 to December 19. The Orléans Campus Gallery is located on the main level of the Shenkman Arts Centre

Meetings

ARTEAST meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the North Gloucester Branch of the Ottawa Library. Located on Ogilvie Road beside Gloucester High School. All artists are welcome. For more information visit www.arteastottawa.com.

THE ORLEANS PHOTO CLUB meets the second Saturday of every month at the Visual Arts Centre of Orléans (VACO) located on the main level at the Orléans Recreation Complex on Youville Drive. THE CUMBERLAND ARTS AND CRAFTS GUILD meets the third Wednesday of every month at 7:30 p.m. (except July, August & December) in the Gloucester Senior Adult Centre on the second floor of the Earl Armstrong Arena at 2020 Ogilvie Rd.
