Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at the age of 62 years old. Beloved husband of Marcia Louise Channer. Loving father of Ninnera and the late Delanor (1997). He will be sadly missed by his siblings Everald (Daphne), Colleen, Kevin (Janice), the Langley family, his honorary daughters: Sally-Ann and Janice, as well as “the boys”, work colleagues from the Department of National Defence, Toastmasters colleagues and Seventh-day Adventist church family. Retired member of the Royal Canadian Navy where he served for 19 years as both a Resource Management Support Clerk and a Naval Weapons Technician. He is pre-deceased by his mother Angela Clark (nee Lavers), his step-father Mark Clark and his father Howard Henebury. Kelvin is survived by his three children; Megan Henebury (Kelly of Middle Sackville, NS) and Aidan and Ena Burke (Ramona of Orleans, ON). Passed away at home on December 30th, 2012. He was born March 3rd, 1926 in Grand Falls, New Brunswick. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Therese (Carey) Theriault. He was a very proud father of five children, his eldest daughter late Helene, Pauline (Robert Adlard), Alice, Eva (Michael Mooers) and Richard. Passed passed away quietly at the Ottawa Hospital on December 27, 2012. Marcel, a resident of Orleans and formerly Petawawa, was predeceased by his first wife of 51 years, Marguerite Whalen (1997), and his second wife Doris Roy (2010). He will be sadly missed by his children, Donalda (Paul Hector) of Thornhill, ON, Marcella (Andre Letourneau) of Ottawa, Carol of Cold Lake, AB, Sylvia of Ottawa, Paul (Donna Marshall) of Ottawa, and Emil of Victoria, B.C. He was the cherished pappy of Natalie, Peter, Erica, Maria, Victoria, Christopher, Melissa and the great grandfather of Audrey, Jamie, Thomas, Nicholas and ­­­­Rebecca. He was dearly loved and will be missed by his surviving siblings, Yvette, Jacques (Elaine), Claudette, and Gilles, and as well, many relatives, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. It is with great sadness and sorrow, that we mourn the death of our dear mother, on November 4th, 2012 at the age of 94. She was the daughter of the late René Corbeil and the late Rose Laurin. Panneton, Guy

Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family, at the age of 74. Guy was married for 50 years to his beloved wife Patricia who predeceased him by only a few months. Guy was the father of three daughters: Louise and her husband John Gilmour and former husband Barry Gurberg; Jackie and her husband Ed Kus; Caroline Lussier and her husband Marc Laurin. Guy loved and was very proud of his grand-children: Richard, Francis, David, Jessica, Kristine, Samuel and Sabrina who are his legacy and who each carry with them a little bit of Grandpa. His three brothers were a big part of his life; he leaves behind Jean (Gisèle) and is predeceased by Pierre and Michel. Guy is also predeceased by his parents Jacques and Yvette. Born in Montreal, Québec in 1937, he enjoyed travelling the world through his work at Lavalin. It brought him to Algeria, Haiti, Uganda, Sudan, Costa Rica, throughout Europe and so many other places. He especially enjoyed the trips where Pat could join him. As a civil engineer, he managed many roads, plants and building projects. He enjoyed his work tremendously ending his career at Canada Post where he headed up the procurement department. Guy moved to James Bay from 1978 to 1980 and then from Montreal to Ottawa in 1992 where he spent many happy years surrounded by his family. He enjoyed summers at the family cottage in Labelle, where he could be seen with a hammer in hand, by the dock fixing something or playing in his stamps at the desk by the window. We all remember him with a pair of tweezers in hand arranging his stamp collection. A tall and distinguished business man, Guy was a great provider to his family. He was a very good man and will be sadly missed. Special thanks go out to “his” Hélène and Dr. Louise Coulombe, both angels sent from heaven. Born and raised in Ottawa, Dave was recruited by the National Research Council in the 1950’s and spent his 46-year career with the organization. In his retirement, Dave enjoyed traveling with his beloved Joan. His grandchildren brought him incredible joy, and they will miss his magic tricks and good-natured teasing. Dave will be remembered for his humour, intelligence and caring spirit. Lonnie passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 19, 2012, at the age of 53. Katalin Sheskay (née Pinter) passed away suddenly Thursday at the age of 61. She was the spouse of Glen Sheskay, mother to Glenn (Heather) and proud grandmother of Evan and Brendan. She was predeceased by her father, Steve Pinter. She is survived by her mother, Katalin Duda, her sister, Susan Willis (Gregg), her brother, Steve Pinter, and her nieces: Sara (Bill), Ashley (Lee), Kayla and Amanda (Joe). Katalin was well known as a community leader, advocate and fundraiser. She has been an Ottawa Catholic School Board Trustee since 2006. She has worked with many charity and volunteer groups including Habitat for Humanity, the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation, the Beechwood Cemetery Foundation and the Waupoos Foundation. She was recognized for her community involvement many times including being awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002, the United Way Community Builder Award in 2005 and the Women of Distinction Award from the YMCA/YWCA in 2006. She touched many lives and will be missed. Visitation will take place in the Sacred Space of the Beechwood Cemetery National Memorial Centre 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, on Thursday May 24th from 1:00 p.m. until the Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. A reception will follow from 3:00-5:00 p.m. in the Borden and Fleming suites. Passed away the morning of the 15th of May at her home and place of business in Orleans, Ontario, after a valiant battle with Jejunum Cancer. She was an owner and operator of Steadys Catering. Whiteley, Richard Vernon

It is with sadness that the family of Richard Vernon Whiteley announces his passing at home in Ottawa on April 26, 2012, at age 96. Born in England in 1915, Dick moved to Canada as a child, spending his youth in Toronto, Guelph, and in the north where he helped build Highway 60 through Algonquin Park. He was a veteran of WWII, a Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Seaforth Br. 156. He eventually settled with his family in Seaforth. He was a science teacher, spending some time in the West Indies, and finished his career as Vice-Principal of Clinton District High School in 1978. He loved to fish and spent many winters in Florida. He is predeceased by his wife, Margeurite (Johnson) (1995), his parents Frederick Whiteley (1918) and Effie Gott (Bennett) (1968), and one brother Alec (WWII ). He is lovingly remembered by his children, Rick & Carol Whiteley of Haliburton; Jack & Roxanne Whiteley of Ottawa; Pat Whiteley of Sudbury; and Kathy & Ted Scott of Waterloo. He took great pride in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Sean Whiteley & Leslie Stedlbauer, and Olivia; Erin Blanchard, Hunter and Castin; Jessica & Alex Morsink, and Callia; Jenna Whiteley & Nick Latreille; Annie Lafrance; Jill & Matthew Snyder, Leah, Janae and Esther; Carly Scott & Chris Palmer. Passed away peacefully at home in Orleans at the age of 75, on February 29, 2012, in the tender care of his family. Devoted husband to Hélène (Dugal), loving father to Gilbert (Susan McKiel), Carole (Bill Rascoe) and Pierre (Ana Reis). Brother to Paulette and Robert (Claudette Godin) and predeceased by parents Charles Eugène and Berthe (Rochon), brothers Gérald (Pauline Denault), Richard (Carole Larocque) and Raymond. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Crystal, Kevin, Amy, Christopher, Dene, Pierre, Michael and Ann-Marie and great grand-daughter Odesa. Jean-Claude proudly served in the air force and retired from Loeb after 29 yrs of service. He was happiest at the cottage at Lac Schryer where he enjoyed collecting various items, playing golf, poker on Monday afternoon, bowling and the company of good friends on any day. He was a friend to all that met him, strong and reliable to all that knew him. He leaves us with an abundance of love and memories. It is with profound sadness that David and Thomas tragically passed away together on February 22nd, 2012, at the age of 47 and 16, respectively. Banville, René

René Joseph Henri Banville lived a full and happy life and was a true inspiration to those who knew him. He was born on February 11th, 1928 in Montreal to Elizabeth (née Gagné) and Pierre Banville. René married Carmelle Chenier and was the much-loved father of 5, Hélène (Claude Joncas), Léo (Andrea Mondragon), Roxane (Scott Burwell), Pierre (Angela Bernard) and Renée (Roberto Santamaria), grandfather of 12, mentor, teacher and friend to so many more.

Grandpapa or ‘GP’, as he was known to his family, was a humble man with a quick sense of humor and an insatiable curiosity about the world around him which he loved to share. Early in life, this led to a degree in Arts, another in Chemistry and a Masters degree in Aeronautical Engineering. René had a career in the Canadian Air Force during which time he contributed to the Avro Arrow project and served on various bases including AFCENT in Europe and was commander of CFB La Macaza from 1968 to 1971.

GP had a profound love of nature and thrived on nurturing a large tree farm in the Laurentians. He would welcome family and friends and share his wood lore knowledge allowing them to learn and be closer to nature. He had an unwavering commitment to family and was very happy to be able to leave this tree farm as a legacy.

René died peacefully on January 25th 2012. His family cherishes his precious memory and mourns his passing. Visitation hours will be held at Heritage Funeral Home at 2871 St-Joseph Blvd in Orléans on Saturday, January 28th from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sunday, January 29th from 11:30 am to 1 p.m. followed by a funeral service.

Laurence Charette passed away on January 13, 2012, in Ottawa, at the age of 87 with her family by her side. She was the only child of the late Laurent Roy and the late Vitaline Daigneault and beloved wife of the late Dr. Laurent Charette for 62 years. She regretfully leaves her four children: Monique (Maurice Leclerc), Robert (Christine Paradis), Carmen (Gregory Young) and Marie-Claire (Christian Boutin), her 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren but was ready to join her dear Laurent. She also leaves her two cousins: Marie-Ange Roy and Jeanne Chenier whom she always regarded as her sisters, her devoted sister-in-law Sister Paulette Charette, as well as numerous relatives and friends. Laurence had a full life which she dedicated to her family. She was an accomplished cordon bleu. Always a sympathetic listener, we will remember her love and generosity. She will never know the extent to which she became a model and inspiration for so many. She was a great lady and was always cheerful. We will miss her greatly. St-Germain, Jean

Passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 79, with his loving family by his side. Beloved spouse and best friend of Dolorès St. Germain (nee Mailhot). Loving father to Marc and Janet (Alan). Doting grandfather to Christianne and Patrick. Jean will be missed by his brother, Andre (Janine) and his sister, Thérèse (Leo-Paul). Born in St. Angèle-de-Laval, Jean had a long and distinguished career in the Canadian Armed Forces. Jean served on the HMCS Magnificent, Québec, Lanark, Saguenay and Assiniboine. His travels continued with the Canadian Forces in Europe. Upon retirement from the Forces, Jean continued serving the forces with SISIP FS. Jean’s family wishes to thank Dr. Laurie and the nurses and caregivers of the Ottawa General Hospital oncology department. Visitation and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 8 at the Heritage Funeral Home, 2871 St. Joseph Blvd. Orleans Ontario. Visitation from 9 to 11. Memorial Service at 11:00. Rollin, Josée

The Rollin family has the regret to inform you of the passing of Josée Rollin - ''TFILLE'' Josée has put her angel wings on, for an eternal sleep at the age of 33 on November 27th, 2011. Without saying goodbye she leaves behind her love Marc Parenteau, her father Richard, her mother Rita Bénard, her sister Manon (Hugo), her sister Valérie (Byron) and her little darling Khalua. She also leaves her grandparents as well many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Heritage Funeral Home located at 2871 St-Joseph boulevard, Orléans on Friday December 2nd, 2011 from 18h to 21h and on December 3rd from 09:30 to 11h. The celebration of life will be held at 11h in the funeral home's chapel. In memory of Josée, your expressions of sympathy can take the form of a donation to the Children's Wish Foundation.
